Same as above except two columns with cell spacing 3 pixels, padding 10 pixels ... color in this cell. Cell 75% window. Next cell only has a picture in it, black background color. I also 'right clicked' and selected 'Paragraph / List Properties' and clicked the Additional Styles drop down arrow and picked 'Block Quote' PS. who is that handsome guy? |

The tables below
have no border. Border is set to 0 (zero) in properties window: In Composer
the border outlines will appear as dotted lines. Once published, or previewed,
they will not show.
| The table below is left aligned, overall width a specific 750 pixels, no border cell padding and spacing 0. The left cell is set to 250 pixels wide, right cell 500, both with black background. But the background picture in left cell overrides, or cover ups the black background. |

to 750 pixels, this cell is 750 minus the 250 of the left cell, or 500 pixels wide. If you don't set both cell's width, the left cell will tile. Tiling is where the background image repeats itself, giving you an amateurish (ugly) look. The table below shows you tiling (background image is 60 x 60 pixels):
Note:
Yes, you can insert a table within a table cell, |
The table properties
windows for the table above are below (see Netscape 6.2.1 table window HERE).
Remember, just right click a table and select Table Properties to get to this
window. You also have to right click each cell, select Table Properties,
and select the Cell tab and give each cell a specific width, if you want things
to appear just so on different computers viewing the Internet with different
screen resolutions. Most computers are set to 800 x 600, but larger monitors
view at 1024 x 768 pixels. If a table is set to only 100% of window, then
your table will be stretched wider than it appeared when you designed it on
a 800 x 600 display resolution monitor. Then any background images you
have will be tiled.

You may notice that you have to scroll left to right to see these two windows side by side on a computer set to 640 x 480 or 800 x 600 resolution. (On your printable page the right image will be chopped off - it's too wide for portrait printing orientation) Both images total 827 pixels across. I just left the table width at 100%, but I did select both cells and gave the pictures center alignment within the cells, as well as the table, for those viewing on a 1024 x 768 monitor. At least then they will be centered. PS. Almost 75% of people viewing the Internet use display screen resolutions of 800 x 600. And this line is left at variable width font. Does it look different than the rest? If so, it's because I didn't designate the type of font I wanted it to be. And your computer is probably set to the default font of Times New Roman (unless you change it in your Internet properties window to Verdana). Most of the Internet uses Verdana font. This is Verdana.
